It was a pleasure to work with the owners to design and construct this modern family beach house. Situated on an enormous block a stone throw from the ocean, it was important that the design elements of the home suited both the block its coastal location.
The combination of natural textures to the external elevation makes it a stand out home for our portfolio. The main entrance was clad with Iron Ash timber cladding juxta positioned alongside Scyon Linea and limestone brickwork. A favourite feature would be the extra high windows to the stairwell which allow plenty of natural light into the house. The owners also wanted louvered windows so that they can maximise the airflow into the living areas when the afternoon sea breezes set in during summer.
There was an expansive amount of landscaping required, the most impressive feature being the giant fire pit. Talk about making the most of the Southwest weather, the owners can enjoy a cold drink on the deck in summer or a warm cosy fire outside in winter.
